Nintendo have updated the Nintendo Switch Online NES and SNES applications with some new games. Check inside for the details.
It's not often that Nintendo updates the NES and SNES applications for Nintendo Switch Online, but when it does, it usually ensures that we get at least a handful of new titles to play.
And that's exactly what has happened this week, because Nintendo Switch Online subscribers are being granted access to a whole three new titles, which includes three SNES games plus an update to a previously released NES title.
The NES application has been updated to the latest version, and includes the following game...
Mario has a total of eight wardrobe changes to choose from!
In this special version of Super Mario Bros. 3, you start with lots of items in the final world, World 8, Dark Land. You start as Small Mario (outfit #1), but the item box is packed with rare items. Inside you’ll find things like the Super Mushroom, which turns Mario into Super Mario (outfit #2); the Fire Flower, which changes him into Fire Mario (outfit #3), the Super Leaf, which changes him into Raccoon Mario (outfit #4); the Tanooki Suit, which changes him into Tanooki Mario (outfit #5); the Frog Suit, which changes him into Frog Mario (outfit #6); and finally, the Hammer Suit, which turns him into Hammer Mario (outfit #7).
Press the B button on the Map Screen to display your items, and use Up and Down to pick… but wait! Some sharp readers may be wondering about the eighth transformation… As Tanooki Mario, you can hold Down and press the B button to transform into Statue Mario. And when you’re a statue, you can even bump into enemies without being hurt. That makes for eight complete transformations in all – but which Mario is your favorite?
While the SNES application has been updated to version 2.4.0, and includes the following games...
Claymates – Take on the role of Clayton, son of Professor Putty. Your father has made a breakthrough, and with the serum he’s created, living creatures can be turned into clay! You will face many dangers, but you have the ability to transform into five different animals. You’ll need them all to run, jump, fly, swim and climb your way past the obstacles in your path.
Jelly Boy – In this platforming game originally released exclusively in Europe in 1995, you are Jelly Boy, candy given the spark of life by the power of lightning. You’ve come to life knowing one thing: You have to escape the candy factory. To get out, you’ll need to collect puzzle pieces and survive the enemy heavies trying to stop you. You’re sure to need all your wits, skills and shape-changing powers to make it through this wacky adventure.
Bombuzal – Strategically detonate every bomb in each level while leaving yourself a safe place to stand when the dust settles. In this puzzle game, you’ll have to be quick, because time is short. Just make sure you remember to take the size of each explosion into account, or it could blow a hole in all your careful planning. Good luck, and have a blast!
And here's the video...
Are any of these titles of interest to you? Will you be trying out at least one of them? Or were you hoping that other titles which aren't on the service yet, might have been added by now?
