Nintendo to terminate online services for Wii and DS games in May

Nintendo has announced that online services for all its Wii and DS titles will be terminated on May 20th. After that, you will no longer be able to play online with any Wii or DS game.
However, app services like the Wii Shop Channel, Netflix, the DSi Shop, and Wii and DSi internet browsers will remain unaffected and work as normal.
It means that we will soon be unable to take multiplayer stalwarts like Mario Kart Wii/DS and Pokémon Black & White 2 online. And whilst 3DS and Wii U games will obviously remain unaffected, you won't be able to circumvent the server shut-downs by playing your DS and Wii games on those backwards-compatible systems.
