With just a week to go until the worldwide release of Splatoon, Nintendo is bullish about game's potential, and has been talking up its own marketing efforts.
You may have already seen adverts opening with Mad Max in cinemas, and they'll also air alongside Tomorrowland and on Cartoon Network. It accompanies a raft of digital marketing, and even the sponsoring of a skate park in Corby.
Speaking to MCV, Nintendo UK's Chandra Nair stated that Nintendo was making a concerted effort to pushing Splatoon, comparing the volume of marketing to that of another major first-party title.
"We have a substantial campaign planned for Splatoon. To give you an idea of the scale, we're matching Mario Kart 8 – that's the potential we think Splatoon has.
"We have the utmost confidence in the potential of Splatoon. It gives retailers a fantastic art style that stands out in-store or on-screen and it also offers various up-sell opportunities with the accompanying Amiibo. It's a really interesting game for us because it allows us to expand out to a group of people who may never have considered Wii U before."
Splatoon finally launches on May 29th. Don't forget, you can play the Global Testfire demo for one hour tomorrow - starting at 11pm BST - so download it from the eShop if you haven't already.
