Nintendo unveils Nintendo Switch - new console coming March 2017

After eighteen months of waiting, we've finally got some information about Nintendo's next console - the Nintendo Switch.
As rumoured a while ago, the console is portable/home console hybrid with the controller having a screen and attachable control parts that can be carried with you or docked at home.
The trailer, which can be viewed below, showed some examples of how the controller works. You can either use it in your hands like a portable, you can dock it at home or you can detach the side parts and play it using the in-built kickstand. The side controllers, known as Joy-Con controllers, can also be used individually, meaning one unit can be played by two people.
Some games were shown, including a Day of the Dead style new Mario title (with amiibos shown, so they're sticking around), an NBA game and what seems like Skyrim. As well as this Splatoon and Mario Kart 8 were shown, although it's unclear if its backwards compatible or they will be remastered (as rumours have suggested). Some eager-eyed viewers have noticed subtle differences, so they may in fact be new games!
Nintendo is having an investors meeting later this month and we expect more details then, but stay tuned to N-Europe for further details as we get them!
