In a bizarre decision, the kind only Nintendo can make, certain Nintendo Switch Online profile icon parts now require you to fulfil certain tasks before you’re allowed the privilege of purchasing them with your well earned Platinum Points.

For example, I was greeted with the Super Mario World task when I fired up NSO today, the details of which can be found in the banner image above.

Not a huge requirement, but another more bizarre one also came to my attention – Animal Crossing. In order to obtain one of the Animal Crossing NSO icon parts, I must play the title on 3 different days!

In the future Nintendo will require you to mouth the words “I love NSO” into the Joy-Con IR Camera before playing software, but the date at which this comes into play has yet to be revealed.
