Nintendo's Investors Meeting took place today in Japan and they confirmed that their next console, the NX, will launch globally in March 2017.

Nintendo confirmed that the console will launch next year, but will not be shown during E3 2016.  Nintendo's focus for E3 2016 is apparently The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U and they have stated it will be the only playable title at E3.

Unfortunately The Legend of Zelda has slipped to next year as well and will launch on the NX as well as the Wii U, presumably as a launch title.  The Wii U and NX versions have been developed in tandem and Nintendo wish to delay the title to ensure it is polished.

Nintendo has stated that the NX will be unveiled later this year, which we assume will be some time after E3.

We speculated about when the launch may be in What Happens NX? #3 and presumed it would launch this holiday seasons, but did suggest it may slip into next year.
