Octopath Traveler Returns to Nintendo eShop

Nintendo were initially the publishers of Octopath Traveler on Nintendo Switch, but are no longer, so the title was recently removed from the eShop.
From now on, Square Enix will publish the title on the Nintendo Switch, and as such, the title is now available to purchase once more.
There’s been no mention as to why the title has had a change of hands from Nintendo to being self published by Square, but it’s assumed by many that this is a hint towards the fabled PlayStation port coming to fruition, and thus Square self-publishing the title across all platforms.
Here’s what Square Enix had to say on Twitter/X:
Octopath Traveler is now available to purchase on Nintendo Switch eShop once again. Thank you for your patience.
This doesn’t change much in regards to the title itself, other than the fact that perhaps Switch owners in the future can enjoy more deals when it comes to Octopath Traveler.
Nintendo typically put their games on sale rarely, and when they do it tends to be by 33%, whereas Square are known for having regular sales on the Nintendo eShop, as can be seen with the myriad of Final Fantasy titles that often climb their way up the charts when a discount is being held.
