Indie eShop game Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty is still very much in development for Wii U despite releasing on other platforms last year, GoNintendo reports.

The game is a full, 'ground-up' remake of the cult PlayStation platformer, and it has been occupying Wii U eShop 'coming soon' lists for some time.

The game was completed and first released - to critical acclaim - on PS4 just over a year ago. Other platforms gradually followed, but the fate of the Wii U version remained unclear. It is believed the developer was committed to compressing the game below 8GB so it could be downloaded on basic Wii U models without the need for a hard-drive.

It looks like the studio has made some breakthrough with the task, as today it was confirmed that New 'n' Tasty is still very much on track for a Wii U release 'soon'. The first screenshots of the Wii U build were also revealed.
