Official Nintendo Magazine UK to close

Official Nintendo Magazine - the last remaining Nintendo-specific magazine in the UK - has announced that its forthcoming issue will be its final one.
The magazine revealed that the decision to close the publication was made jointly by Nintendo, who will seek to communicate with fans through other social media channels, and publisher Future, who will focus on a core of pre-existing websites, including Kotaku UK and CVG.
Despite being technically an 'official' Nintendo outlet, ONM always enjoyed a cheekily irreverant charm delivered with a real fan-centred ethic. Its current form as a magazine under Future has ran since 2006, but the heart of the magazine stretches all the back to when it existed as Nintendo Magazine System in 1992.
Current subscribers will automatically have their subscriptions transfered over to GamesMaster by default, but will be contacted by post if they would rather have a refund.
The ONM staff have gradually been redeployed across Future, so there will be no redundancies.
The final, 114th issue of ONM goes on shelves on October 14th. The website and social media accounts will close thereafter on November 11th.
