The action-adventure title was released last year in Japan, but Namco Bandai has today announced that One Piece Unlimited World Red will arrive on European, Australian & North American shores later this year.
The fourth game in the Unlimited series sees you take control of Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat crew. Experience a brand-new scenario written by Eiichiro Oda himself (creator of One Piece) centered around two mysterious characters. Battle it out with some classic foes including the likes of Crocodile, Enel, Lucci, Hody, Caesar Clown, the Marine Admirals and many, many more.
If the challenges get too tough, then your friends can help you through co-operative play. Use powerful combination attacks to overwhelm your enemies.
But that's not all there is to the game, no. There are some Monster Hunter themes involved this time around too. Hunt animals and beasts, gather raw materials from the world and take on mini-games with your friends in local co-op modes through fishing, bug-catching and more. All of these tasks helps to grow your town (Trans Town) and expand it to bring new services (Museum, Pharmacy, Resteraunt, Factory and many more) that will aid you on your adventure.
Here's what Hiroaki Ochiai, Senior Vice President of IP Strategy at Namco Bandai Games Europe had to say on the game:
As one of the most successful manga we ever witnessed, ONE PIECE is a phenomenon that deserves AAA adaptations. We decided to team-up with Ganbarion to create a new opus for the "Unlimited" series. Thanks to their expertise, we are sure to have an amazing game where all the details from the ONE PIECE universe will be perfectly pictured. On top of that, we are really proud and happy to have a never-before-seen scenario for this game!
The 3DS & Playstation Vita versions allow up to four player local multiplayer gameplay, whereas the Wii U & Playstation 3 features two player split-screen co-op play.
