Back at E3 2015, a loose lipped Miyamoto spilled the beans on a title secretly in production at Nintendo - Pikmin 4.

The previously unannounced title was casually mentioned by the Pikmin creator in an interview with Eurogamer two years ago. At the time, Miyamoto said, "[it's] actually very close to completion" 

With such a positive statement that it was nearly ready it was quite baffling that we then heard nothing about the series for another two years. Had the project been scrapped? Had it moved from Wii U to another console? Did it turn into the recently announced 'Hey Pikmin'?

Well thankfully it sounds like the game is still in production and it's a separate entity to the 3DS game coming out soon. In an interview with Eurogamer this year, Miyamoto said he can't give many details about the game but it is "progressing".

Nintendo later followed up Miyamoto's comments by saying "Pikmin 4 is in development but that is all we can confirm at present."

Pikmin 4 joins the ever growing list of title's we know are on the way but have absolutely no details about, along with the new Pokémon RPG on Switch and Metroid 4.
