Pink power gives 3DS a boost in Japan

It's been a while since the last big release on a Nintendo platform in Japan, but at least it gives these little weekly updates a chance to look at some of the eastern offerings on other platforms.
This week saw another new PSP game in the Gundam series sell a bucket-load to shoot to the top of the chart, beating out breastilicious fighter Dead or Alive 5. The highest, and indeed only, new Nintendo entry was a new Style Savvy game for 3DS, which debuted at number 3.
Next week will show us the polarizing Resident Evil 6's first week offering, so be sure to come back for that.
For now, here is the Media Create software chart for the week of September 24th to 30th.

After weeks of settling down at a stable number, what a difference a new colour can make. This past week saw a pink 3DS XL go on sale in Japan, leading to a boost in sales of around 20k, further cementing the handheld's dominance. A busy week for Vita meanwhile pushes the system up beyond the 10k mark once again.
