Competitions!!!
During the course of this episode not one but two competitions were set which were not planned in advance of recording this show. And what is really odd is that both of them involve "hugs", be sure to listen to the show to find out how this strange turn of events came to be.
And since it was totally unplanned, rules and such were not set properly during the show, so be sure to read below carefully for your chance to win a Virtual Console game of your choice.
Competition One: Video Hugs
N-Europe's PR man, Mike Wilson aka "Wildo" likes giving and receiving hugs, and with the recent announcement of the forthcoming "VC Gift Giver" option by Nintendo of course the natural conclusion is a competition.
If you look below you should find a picture of our very own Wildo. All you need to do is print it out, as big as you can, maybe even stick it onto a doll or teddy bear if you have any and make a video giving "Wildo" a hug. Upload it to the video sharing site of your choice or to your own server space if you have one and send the relevant link to [email protected] and make sure the subject line reads - WILDO VIDEO HUG - and use capitals to make sure it's not missed. First person to do this wins the VC game of their choice when Nintendo release the "Gift Giver" feature.
Rules:
- The picture of Wildo must be clearly visible in the video.
- You can be as creative as you want but please keep it "PG" as the winning video will be featured on N-Europe when the winner is announced, anyone who goes "too far" will be disqualified.
- The winner will receive the VC game of their choice when the VC Gift Giver feature is released (disclaimer: Franklin did say SNES game in the show, but has since changed his mind, so if you fancy a nice N64 game it's all yours, or if there's a NES game you've had your eye on you can save Franklin some Wii Points.)
- Upload it to the video sharing site of your choice or to your own server space if you have one and send the relevant link to [email protected] and make sure the subject line reads - WILDO VIDEO HUG - and use capitals to make sure it's not missed.
- Also the winner and a selection of other videos received after the first is received and before the winner is announced will get featured on N-Europe, so come on readers/listeners spread some love and get yourself featured on N-E.
Competition Two: Real Hugs
The second competition is a little more difficult depending on where you live and/or what your near future travel plans may be. However the rules to which are much simpler than the first competition. All you have to do is actually find Wildo in real life, you know that place you're in when not surfing the net, and give him a nice big hug and you will have just won yourself a Virtual Console game of your choice.
Rules:
- If you see Wildo on the street, ask him first if he is indeed Wildo, just incase you happened to find a Wildo-look-a-like, which could be awkward if you just ran up and gave him a hug.
- Be sure to tell him you know him N-Europe first before hugging him.
- If he runs from you, run after him, he's just playing hard to get to make you work a bit more for your free game.
- The first person who somehow manages to achieve this task will win a VC game of their choice from Wildo himself.
To make this a little bit easier for some, here's where you might find Wildo. Your best chance is in Cardiff, Wales, as that is where he is from, however he will be spending one week in Cork, Ireland, from November 16th so if you're there too keep an eye out for the lovely chap in the picture below. Good Luck.
