While it had been quietly anticipated for a while that a new Pokémon announcement would be made on January 8th, it is only today it becomes clear that the goods might be something big-time.

That is because, for the first time, Satoru Iwata will be hosting a Pokémon-specific Nintendo Direct broadcast to divulge this particular announcement. Not only that, but the broadcast will be aired worldwide simultaneously.

The broadcast will be about ten minutes long.

It all goes down tomorrow at 11am UK time (12pm CET), so be sure to tune in to Nintendo's official Direct site to hear about the news first.
