Pokémon Go update adds Raid Battles, new items and Gym Badges

The Pokémon Go Summer update is its biggest yet, with Gyms being 'closed for remodelling' to usher in this new era.

Developer of Pokémon Go, Niantic, have announced their biggest update yet that promises to introduce newly revamped Gyms, Raid Battles, new items and Gym Badges.

You can download the update now and a lucky few of you will be able to try out the new Raid Battles, a co-op gameplay experience. At the moment it's only available at certain Gym locations in its beta form but will be open to everyone eventually.

Sick of seeing the same Pokémon take up every space at the Gym? Fear no more! The new Gym update now requires each location to have six Pokémon that are selected by the controlling team, with each 'mon being unique. Opposing teams will now have to battle the Pokémon in the order they were assigned to that gym. Gyms will also have photo discs that expel items, much like PokéStops.

The full list of updates can be found below, so get yourself a new pair of walking shoes and show the world what you're made of.
