Pokémon remains top in Japan

Following a massive debut, Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 have remained at the top of the Japanese chart for a second week running, far outselling anything else.
It was a week of a particularly large number of new releases. Turned-based strategy franchise hit 3DS courtesy of Nintendo, and the game received the best first-week sales the series has ever enjoyed.
Also of note is the Nintendo-backed remake of Fatal Frame 2, which similarly released in Europe - under the guise of Project Zero 2: Wii Edition - last week.
Here is the software chart for the week of June 25th to July 1st.

A new colour for Vita gave Sony's new handheld a much-needed boost, but it was 3DS that remained firmly at the top of the hardware chart. Perhaps its relative strength given the recent announcement of the 3DS XL is an ominous sign - the larger version of the console, New Super Mario. Bros 2, and the new Dr. Kawashima game Onitore, all release on July 28th.
