Pokémon games are always big sellers and Pokémon Sun and Moon has set a brand new sales record, becoming the biggest ever Nintendo launch game in Europe.

The games, which launched in Europe last week, so over 1.5 million units in the first week.  More than 368,000 of these units were sold in the UK.

Any London-based fans should head down to the first major Pokémon Sun and Moon tournament that takes place from December 9th until 11th at the European Championships in London.  Players will be able to win up to $250,000 (don't ask us why a European prize has an American prize fund amount) and anyone at home can watch online.  Details can be found on the Pokémon Championship website.
