Not a hugely unexpected Pokémon game announcement, but it has nonetheless been confirmed that Pokkén Tournament will be launching on Wii U worldwide in spring 2016.

Pokkén Tournament is a Pokémon-themed beat 'em up developed and produced by genre stalwarts Bandai Namco. It features a wide roster of 'mon, both fighting type and otherwise.

The game was rolled out across arcades in Japan this year, but it has now been announced for a console release in spring.
