Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft’s answer to Nintendo Direct, recently revealed an exciting new gameplay demonstration of the upcoming Mario + Rabbids sequel: Sparks of Hope.

In this gameplay we get to see some high octane action as the Rabbids and co face-off against the often misunderstood Wiggler on an epic, unlikely battlefield of a moving train.

Fans of the first game may notice some interesting changes to the movement, as well as new abilities from the Luma-inspired Rabbids.

New playable characters will also be available in this ambitious sequel, including Bowser, a once formidable foe for the Rabbids and Mario.

But the biggest revelation is that 90’s platform hero Rayman will be making his Mario + Rabbids debut!

Rayman won’t be in the base game but will arrive as DLC. Whether or not he comes as a solo character with some weapons or play host to his own adventure akin to the Donkey Kong DLC of the first Mario + Rabbids remains to be seen.

Fans of Rayman have been starved in recent years, with his last appearance being 2013’s Rayman Legends, so his inclusion will be welcomed.

Rayman has had close encounters with Mario in the past, donning his famous dungarees in Rayman Legends and appearing as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, but this will be the first time they meet each other face to face.
