Reggie says the NX is about content, not the specs

We've known for a while that Nintendo wouldn't be showing the NX at E3, instead focusing on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but that hasn't stopped people from asking questions about the upcoming console.

With Microsoft showing off a new updated Xbox One, due to launch late next year, and Sony recently confirming they are working on an updated PS4 (although it was not shown at E3), Nintendo's competitors have already set a new standard for console specifications.  However, it's not one that seems to bother Nintendo.

Speaking to Bloomberg during E3, Reggie Fils-Aime has stated that Nintendo "is a content-focused company" that "creates entertainment that makes people smile". When asked how the NX will stack up against Microsoft and Sony's upcoming revisions he said for Nintendo "it's not about specs, it's not about teraflops".  Of course when announcing their new Xbox Microsoft stated it has 6 teraflops, which is a measure of a computer's speed.

The next round of consoles may be measured in teraflops, but Nintendo is not concerned about trying to measure up to their competitors in this regard and instead want to focus on great software for the Wii U and NX.

Of course some point later this year we'll find out exactly what the NX's specs are, but for now we'll just have to wait and see.
