Renegade Kid confirms interest in developing Moon sequel; will regain rights in 2014

Renegade Kid co-founder Jools Watsham has stated on Twitter that it has "always been [the] plan" to develop a sequel to the 2009 DS first-person shooter Moon, but that the reason it never came to be was that the studio could not convince original publisher Mastiff to green-light the project.

However, the titbit was divulged as Watsham also revealed the rights to the Moon franchise would revert back into Renegade Kid's control in 2014.

Fans of the studio's horror shooter Dementium are a little less in-luck, as he also confirmed that rights to that franchise remain with publisher SouthPeak Games. Watsham has long been very encouraging of fans to get in touch with SouthPeak if they wanted to see another Dementium game.

Renegade Kid are currently developing a new horror FPS - Cult County - for the 3DS eShop. Watsham has heavily hinted that the studio came to develop that project as a result of being unable to create a new Dementium title.

Moon came out on Nintendo DS all the way back in 2009, and we reviewed it very favourably.

Currently, Renegade Kid is enjoying success with the release of Mutant Mudds Deluxe on the North American Wii U eShop. No European release has yet been confirmed, but you can enjoy the original via the 3DS eShop.
