The latest instalment of 'investigative programme' Panorama addresses the somewhat controversial issue of addiction to videogames...

Featured within is a rather interesting insight into the industry itself and stories from some of the people who play games to the point of obsession. Additionally the way in which it affects them and their friends and families is explored. It also contains examples of some rather extreme cases plus some history on how games have risen in popularity over the years to what they have become now; the 'dominant' form of entertainment.

The programme also highlights the responsibility of the industry itself, including views taken from many experts and even delves into the psychological aspect of what exactly makes many of us 'want' to play games and how, in some cases, this can lead to the aforementioned addiction.

An interesting programme indeed and for those who may have missed but wish to watch the programme it is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
