A surprise third-party announcement for European Wii U owners today, with the news that Capcom's Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition is heading to the eShop just in time for Halloween.

It will be available from October 29th, and will carry a 25% discount off its regular £17.99 / €19.99 price for the first week.

The Wii version is still considered one of the best versions of the 2005 stone-cold classic, adding nifty pointer controls, and a heap of extra content not found in the original Gamecube release.

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition also becomes the first third-party Wii game to get a full re-release on the Wii U eShop in Europe, although Trauma Centre and Muramasa: The Demon Blade have seen eShop releases in Japan.
