Rumour: Café Hardware Details Out In The Open

Kotaku claims to have gotten some info about the innards of Nintendo's next console, due for unveiling this E3.

According to Kotaku's sources, the supposedly codenamed Project Café will have 8GB of on-board flash-based memory (Wii has 512MB) that would most likely be used for game and save storage.

The disc format reportedly has a 25GB capacity, which is the same as a single-layer Blu-Ray and of course, much more than the 9GB dual-layer DVDs Xbox 360 and Wii use, although pretty much every game on the Wii goes with 4.5GB discs.

On the graphics side, Kotaku's Stephen Totilo couldn't ascertain if Café's resolution is capped at 1080p or 1080i, but its capabilities are likened to Microsoft's and Sony's HD capable consoles.
The article goes on to talk about the touch screen on the controller, but nothing we haven't heard before.

Another day, another rumour and surely you're wise enough by now not to need a recommendation about the salt quantities that should accompany this. Still, we guess you'd like to be up to date on the biggest rumours around.
