Rumour: Castlevania for Gamecube?

It seems that our own forums have given forth an exciting rumour about an upcoming Castlevania game on the Gamecube to be developed by Kuju!

Regular readers of Cube-Europe.com will remember that we recently reported on a new deal brokered between Nintendo and Kuju, with the former publishing and the latter developing an unnannounced title for the Nintendo Gamecube.

Furthermore, recent machinations within the industry have led to speculation that Konami and Kuju have also been in talks recently regarding a franchise -possibly Castlevania! The two companies last announced a partnership lat May when they announced the development of an original product.

Of course, this could all be nothing but speculation and hearsay, and you'd probably be justified in thinking that on the basis of this evidence alone.

HOWEVER, recently someone posted in our very own forums, claiming to be Asad Habib, the quality assurance tester from Kuju. He invited people to make themselves available for a games testing session at Kuju headquarters in London. This user later went on to say the following:

"Thanks again guys. Happy Gaming! PS: Castlevania for Cube!!!!!"

We contacted the companies involved, and they declined to comment on this. However, the post and the links seemed to be very genuine at they lead to the Kuju website and various articles talking about non-disclosure acts and other official matters.

Could this be the start of a beautiful relationship? Or is this just rumour and someones' idea of a joke? Only time will really tell. But on the back of the strong sales of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Konami must be eager to give one of its' most venerable franchises an airing.

Update: Squashed!
We just received information saying that Kuju is definitely not developing a Castlevania title for the GameCube. We are afraid that we will all have to sit tight until the E3 in May to get more details on the mysterious Nintendo title in development at Kuju. We will have more as it breaks!
