Every now and then, Rare (former Nintendo 2nd party) answers letters in the form of a "scribes" mailbox, the latest version brings a few hints.

First of all, when asked if they were working on sequels or remakes of Jet Force Gemini, Killer Instinct and It's Mr. Pants, Rare specifically said "No". When asked about Donkey Kong 64, it was a different reply altogether.

In reply to a letter asking for a Diddy Kong Racing DS style port for Donkey Kong 64, Rare gave the reply: "Who knows what will happen?" Furthermore, Rare were also asked about a Wii version of the game, to which Rare said "Not going to happen though (except maybe on VC, I s'pose)."

We think it's rather unlikely that both will happen, but it seems likely that Rare are working on something Donkey Kong 64-related.
