After the recent announcement that Nintendo will be developing a new Donkey Kong game many presumed it would be a traditional platform game. However recent rumours suggest otherwise.

When Sega released Samba De Amigo, a music arcade game which required you to use maracas, Shigeru Miyamoto let it be known that he is a fan. On March 10th, 2003 Nintendo registered the trademark for Donkey Konga.

Rumours in the industry are suggesting Donkey Kong's next game may be a music one. It is not known that if such game exists whether it will use the GameCube controller or special edition conga drums.

There is no official word either confirming or denying this rumour at present.
