Rumour: Front-Facing Camera for Wii Successor

The controller that can apparently do everything also features a front-facing camera according to fresh reports.

Since rumours about a successor to the Wii first cropped up some weeks ago the controller has been at the centre of discussion. It has widely been rumoured to have a screen and now a new rumour originating on Develop suggests it will have a front-facing camera.

Develop claim that an industry insider has told them that the controller will feature a front-facing camera and many, but not all, details of the controller are already in circulation. The front-facing camera will apparently be used in games, much in the same way it has been used for the 3DS.

"The functions are the same. It is a standard wireless controller added with a front-facing camera and touch screen. That sounds far too much like a 3DS to me. But I can't confirm this, Nintendo is being very cautious about the details."
-- Develop's anonymous source.

Exactly what the controller does or doesn't do will be made clear at next month's E3 where Nintendo has promised to show off the console and hopefully end all this speculation.
