Is Nintendo preparing a second outing for the younger Mario sibling?

Nintendo's chief Gamecube launch title remains prominent in the heart of many a Nintendo fan. Those with fond memories of Luigi's Mansion may be in for some glee.

Nintendo recently acquired a brand new trademark for the title in North America. While it's more-than-plausible that the original trademark fell out of date, Nintendo must be aware of the large following the original game still commands. A sequel to Luigi's Mansion has been rumoured on Wii ever since the console was first announced.

In possibly related news, Japanese publication Nintendo Dream promises to reveal a "surprising" new title in an established franchise for its next issue.
