If the official Japanese website is anything to go by, Metroid fans may be in for an upcoming treat...

With the impending release of the Wii de Asobu remakes of Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2, Nintendo Japan has updated the official website dedicated to the series.

What fans may be surprised to see there, though, is the promise of "Another Side Story", which is "Coming Soon". This can be found on the homepage of the site here; just look for the banner at the bottom of the page. The banner also sports a Space Pirate render from Metroid Prime 3 with the Japanese text: "Follow Metroid Prime's history from the perspective of the Space Pirates."

So what could this cryptic clue mean? If it's a totally new game, why tease it in the region where the series has seen least success? Some believe it simply points to a possible manga, while others hold out for a certain 2D Metroid Dread we've been missing.
