April Fools... thankfully! :P

In news which will surely have Nintendo fans everywhere wishing this actually was an April Fool's story, European gaming news blog N-Design have reported that Hollywood Pictures, the studio behind the first 1993 Super Mario Bros. film are in talks with Nintendo to make another movie based on the Mushroom Kingdom's most famous duo.

For those who don't remember the hideously cheesy and embarrassing original, which starred respected actors Bob Hoskins and Dennis Hopper ruining their careers, this news will come as no joy. Allegedly casting has begun on the picture, with a scheduled release date of sometime in 2009.
