Rumour: Okami On Wii

IGN think it's a possibility. We're creaming ourselves at the prospect.

Okami, the swansong of the recently dissolved Clover Studios, has been wowing Playstation 2 owners since its release. But Wii fans have always looked at with one eye on the potential the Wiimote has for the paintbrush-based gameplay: surely a port would be a no-brainer? That port is looking slightly more likely, with IGN reporting that a "reliable industry insider unaffiliated with Capcom told us that the company is seriously considering creating a Wii version and may even be working on it as we speak."

The official response was typical, stating a Wii version would be "highly unlikely", but with the concept so obviously suited to the Wii's motion sensitivity, and the undeniable popularity of the console in Japan (where Okami sold less than hoped... perhaps a Wii release could turn that around?), it is not impossible.

At the moment, mark all this as possibly simply wishful thinking though. We'll obviously keep you posted.
