Rumour: Rayman Origins Sequel

Not had enough limbless action? According to a 'leaked Ubisoft survey', another Rayman adventure is on the way! Screenshots inside...

Rayman Origins released on Wii in November last year and if an apparent 'leaked survey' is anything to go by we could be enjoying even more Rayman action sooner than we think.

The survey in question was discovered by Kotaku readers and apparently featured the screenshots shown on this page. The new instalment is said to be based in a completely different setting yet still features the "beautiful 2D graphics" and gameplay elements of the original.

The survey stated, “The sequel to Rayman Origins will feature brand new settings: legendary worlds filled with castles, vampires, ghosts, Greek Gods, or dragons".

Video content was shown but it appears to have only been a slideshow of artwork from the game.

This news may come as a surprise to some gamers as whilst Rayman Origins was very highly rated for its fantastic gameplay and beautiful visuals, it wasn't as commercially successful as Ubisoft had hoped. Despite this, Ubisoft did reveal that the game has been profitable and that they think it "has the capacity to become a long-term seller for the company."

The 3DS version of Rayman Origins is set to release in Europe on June 8th.
