Rumour: Software Prices Dropping?

Rumours are floating around the web again. This time they suggest that this Christmas Nintendo will cut the prices of software to $USA 29.99.
According to the latest rumours this Winter's biggest Nintendo titles, such as Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Paper Mario 2, could be retailing in America for $29.99, roughly 16 or 25.
Of course at the moment it is all rumours, with the strongest evidence being that Canadian retailers are offering customers to pre-order titles for that price.
While it is a rumour we would all love to see come true it would mean that Nintendo would lose a lot of profits, as the largest percentage of profits are from software. It would also mean that Game Boy Advance games would have to be reduced in price.
Nintendo have briefly commented on the situation, with a rather blunt "Nintendo does not comment on rumors or speculation." So don't get your hopes up just yet.
