Fancy using your DS as a phone? Vonage may be answering your call...

T3 is reporting that Vonage, a top VoIP (Voice Over IP) provider, is working on bringing phone capabilities to Nintendo's DS handheld (and Sony's PSP). The DS already has the hardware necessary for such a function: wireless internet capability and a built-in microphone - in fact, Nintendo has already convincingly demonstrated the functionality at last year's E3 with DSpeak. Vonage is certainly more than capable of delivering their own powerful VoIP software.

More on this rumour as we hear about it. The DS will soon have an official web browser, hopefully VoIP won't be far behind.
