Rumour: Wii Health & Music Channels Planned?

Two further Wii Channels are rumoured to be on their way - Health Pack, and Wii Music! Details within.

With plenty of empty Channel spaces left to fill, it seems Nintendo may well provide users with another two Channels sometime in the future. The latest rumours would have you believe that a "Health Pack Channel" and "Wii Music Channel" were in development, or so says George Katrinakis, CEO of Greek Nintendo distributor Nordec Multimedia, speaking to Greek news website Contra.

The Health Pack Channel gets gamers to perform physical exercises, before recording your performance levels, analysing them at a Nintendo-contracted hospital and returning the results. The Wii Music Channel will allegedly give you the conductor's baton, allowing you to direct your own virtual opera using a variety of instruments. Your music can then be shared.

Interestingly, both these descriptions fit software we've already heard about before. Indeed, the conducting Wii Music concept has been around since the first promotional videos for the Wii. It makes sense though that Nintendo could be releasing these small games as Channels rather than as full purchasable titles.

We'll keep our ear to the ground for more - and in the meantime, we'll add these two to the other two rumoured future Wii Channels - the Wii Popularity Channel (allegedly launching in Japan on the 29th of this month) and the Demo Channel (supposedly confirmed by Nintendo as on the way). Stay tuned for more.
