Could the Wii finally be seeing a price reduction this year? Rumblings inside...

Despite many a rumour and denial over the years, the Wii has remarkably remained at its launch price point. Thus, as time goes by, the likelihood for the console's price finally being reduced only becomes more likely.

On to the latest rumours then, which have seen American mega-retailers Wal-Mart and Toys 'R' Us leak plans for the console's RRP to be slashed by $50 to $199 - in line with the Xbox 360 'Arcade' bundle.

The price cut has yet to be officially confirmed, but fits neatly in with when Nintendo are attending the Kyoto Cross Media Experience 2009 that runs from the end of the month into the start of October. Could the Big N finally be ready to reduce the Wii price? Stick with N-Europe to find out...
