Rumour: Zelda: Breath of the Wild to miss Nintendo Switch launch

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was supposed to release on the Wii U last year, but saw a delay to improve things and release it on the Nintendo Switch (then known as the NX) as well.  Many assumed that it would release alongside the console itself, which is due out in March, but according to rumours it is still some time from release.

Eurogamer has spoken to sources to corroborate a report from Emily Rogers stating that the game will not launch alongside the console early next year.  According to Rogers the title's localisation is due to continue for the rest of this year, after which "four to six months" of testing will commence, putting it in the April-June window.

Nintendo is unlikely to confirm this information until they release more Nintendo Switch news in January as previously promised, meaning we'll have to wait and see when we can get our hands on their most ambitious Zelda title to date.
