SEGA claim they have great things on the way for Wii U

Aliens Colonial Marines was an eagerly anticipated title but sadly didn't live up to expectations when it released on 360 and PS3 earlier in the year. After the bad response, SEGA have decided it's best to lay the Wii U version to rest before releasing it upon the world.

Whilst a cancellation is usually a bad thing, the title is already well known for being a huge disappointment, so even though this is still a blow for people who were excited for the title, it's not quite on the same level as Rayman Legends as far as controversial Wii U releases (or indeed, the lack thereof) are concerned.

In a bid to keep Wii U gamers on their side though, SEGA are keen to show that they do still have great Wii U titles on the way and this is not an indication of their dedication to the platform.

SEGA sent the following statement to Game Informer:

"We are constantly looking at all areas of our business and in this case have made the decision to not continue development of the Wii U version. Rest assured that we have some fantastic developments for Wii U in the pipeline which we will announce at a later date."

What titles do you hope SEGA bring to the Wii U? Considering they have fantastic developments in the pipeline perhaps we can expect a Mario and Sonic title soon.
