Yacht Club Games has announced the final game for their indie hit Shovel Knight. A local-only multiplayer mode titled Shovel Knight Showdown is on the way.

Shovel Knight Showdown will let you control one of 16 characters from the game; this includes previously unplayable characters like The Enchantress and Black Knight. While the focus is on local multiplayer, each character also has a unique Story Mode. For a full rundown be sure to visit Yacht Club's website.

The update will be available soon and for free for players who own Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. It will also be available as a standalone download for $9,99. The Nintendo 3DS however will not receive Shovel Knight Showdown.

The developers have not forgotten about the previously announced Shovel Knight's King Of Cards single player expansion or the amiibo 3-pack. A release date for these is expecting later on this week.
