Site News: News Reporters Needed

The news team is in need of help, do you think you can be a good "newsie"? If so come inside.

Not to use a cliché but Cube-Europe needs you! The news team is, well, depleted, and we are in need of more staff. We are asking anyone and everyone who is interested to reply, but make sure you do so in the way and with the details outlined below.

In the past we have asked you to come up with a new story, any news story. This has changed, we are now asking you to make a news story based on a real event, rather then "Nintendo's New Console!!!" which is commonly submitted. Please choose one of the stories below, remembering there may be more details that are not included so research the piece. Your work will be looked on with more respect if you have clearly researched the news.

The job will require knowledge of HTML, whether you know it now or not does not matter but obviously you need to be willing to learn it. It is not difficult as it will mainly be text manipulation tags to learn. Of course if you do know it now that will be great, but it will not put you ahead of other applicants.

The job will also need dedication, yes it isn't a full paying job but we do need someone with enthusiasm and interest in the subject and someone who work on news items. We understand people have lives outside of Cube-Europe but a lot of the staff are in education or employment, or even both, and still manage to put in a good few hours per day. Obviously there will be times that there is no news to report but when there is we expect you to report it.

So to enter simply write a news piece about one of the above topics, any not relating to those will be ignored, and include the following details:

  • Name
  • Age
  • Location
  • Amount of time on the internet per day
  • Other commitments (eg Work) and details of frequency
  • Any currently planned vacation time.
  • Knowledge of HTML. If existent how much
  • Previous Experience (not necessary to have previous experience however)

Finally, email your entries [email protected] with the title "News Team", please do so in this way so that your entry will get read. Failure to do so will result in your entry not being read.

We look forward to hearing from you.
