Steep for Switch development has stopped

As a reaction on a tweet from the official Steep Twitter page, user Fifty One Fifty asked if there is any news on the Switch version of the game. The reaction may not be the one we were hoping for, as the response is:

"We are wholly dedicated to supporting the live game, and made the decision to stop Steep development on the Nintendo Switch platform to focus on bringing new live content and challenges to Steep players instead. We’ll have more exciting news to share soon."

While this is is not yet confirmed, it looks like Steep for Switch is no more. The game already had a page on the official Nintendo website, but that has been removed as well.

Sad news as the title looked very promising. With "more exciting news to share soon", we can only hope they are turning this into a sequel to the fantastic Gamecube title 1080 Avalanche. One can dream, right?
