Mega Man fans rejoice, Capcom haven't forgotten about you after all! Next week a free download will be released, though sadly it's PC only, in celebration of 25 years of frustration.
Street Fighter X Mega Man merges the two wondrous worlds together and tasks you with making your way through eight new stages. At the end of each stage will be a boss, who is a character from Street Fighter, displayed in an adorable 8-bit style.
The game isn't being developed by Capcom but instead by Seow Zong Hui as a fan-made project with Capcom overseeing development. The music is also fan-made with musician A-Rnival producing 8-bit Mega Man style mash-ups of classic Street Fighter tunes.
The game will be released on the 17th December at Capcom Unity. This isn't the only thing Mega-Man fans have to look forward to though, as Senior Vice-President at Capcom stated on the Capcom Unity forum.
"I don't know that there's [anything] more substantial for me to talk about but there's a TON more things we have in the works, only some of which will be shared on December 17th. There's a whole year of things that will happen... you're only going to hear about what's happening fairly close to the start of the celebrations at first."
