Strong launch for Switch in the UK

The Nintendo Switch has got off to a good start in the UK after selling around 80,000 units while Zelda managed to bag the No.2 spot in the all format charts.
The Switch has had a good launch in the UK, selling around 80,000 units, doubling the launch sales of Wii U. The sales aren't quite up there with 3DS (113,000) but with limited stock and given the 'soft launch' that Nintendo are giving us, things seem to be going as planned.
While the 3DS saw a better launch it did suffer from a mass downfall in sales shortly after thanks to a lack of software to follow so hopefully with the likes of Arms, Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart on the way in the coming months the same won't happen here.
It's not just the hardware that Nintendo are happy about though as Zelda managed to grab the No.2 spot in the all formats chart, just falling short of Horizon on PS4 which also launched this week.
1-2 Switch and Bomberman R also made an appearance in the charts, arriving at No.4 and No.7 respectively.
Breath of the Wild is also a success in the realm of Zelda titles, with the Switch version boasting the third biggest launch for a Zelda game behind Wind Waker on GameCube and Twilight Princess on Wii.
