After a surprise announcement last month, Nintendo has confirmed that Super Mario Run will launch on the App Store on December 15th.

The iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch title will be free to download and try, but will cost European gamers €9.99/£7.99 if you want to unlock everything.  You will need to be running iOS 8.0 or later for the game to work.

The game will release in 151 countries and regions and be available in English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese.

Super Mario Run is also scheduled to release on Android at some unspecified point.
