Nintendo has announced that Super Smash Bros. for 3DS has surpassed one million copies sold after just two days on shelves in Japan. The figure includes both retail and eShop sales.
It propels the game to being one the fastest-selling 3DS titles in Japan. Only three other games have passed the million mark within their first week: Yo-Kai Watch 2, Pokémon X & Y, and Monster Hunter 4.
It bodes well for the game's forthcoming western release. Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will release in Europe on October 3rd. Last week, Nintendo sent a lucky few Club Nintendo members download codes for a demo of the game, with the demo set to be made available to the general public on the eShop this Friday.
The Wii U version of Super Smash Bros. is still scheduled to launch worldwide during Q4 2014.
