There have been plenty of characters added to the roster of the Super Smash Bros. over the years, especially since "Melee" was released on the GameCube all those years ago. With the release of "Brawl" on the Wii, the series introduced guest characters from other third-party developers, including; Sega's own Sonic the Hedgehog and the classic Solid Snake from Konami. Bayonetta from Platinum Games being included in the "Wii U" entry, really started to open the floodgates for more exotic dlc characters from that point.
Not to be outdone, Nintendo had a few surprising character addition of their own of course, including; Wii-Fit Trainer who ended up bringing the Sun Salutation smackdown, the meme-worthy Villager from Animal Crossing with that fixed-gaze, coupled with the axe made for some unsettling moments, and of course Lucas the Psychic-enabled hero from Mother 3. Where it would seem that the character is now officially more famous than the game, though we would love for that title to become a little, less obscure, should Mother 3 happen to find its way onto the Switch some day.
The latest tournament in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate titled "200X" went live on Friday 12th June, 2020, and lets you choose any character which was newly introduced to the series during that decade, fighting battles which you'll be able to partake in until the event ends after this weekend.
Do you have a favourite character from this era of Smash? Will you be taking part in this tournament? Or have you already played a few matches during the event already?
