Metroid is a series which has created many firsts for videogames, including featuring the first notable female protagonist, which players would not be aware of until finishing the original game (whoops, over three-decade old spoilers) not to mention creating half of a sub-genre in Metroidvania; but also it's responsible for the Screw Attack which is an amazing aerial-based jumping attack which turns Samus into an unstoppable ball of energy and thankfully, this is something was included in power-up form in the Super Smash Bros. series so that many other characters could utilise this powerful attack because otherwise, it's hardly a fair contest.
The latest tournament in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which went live yesterday, lets other characters make use of this move from the start of the match which should make for some interesting Screw Attack based face-offs, which you'll be able to partake in for the next three days until the event ends.
Do you have a favourite character who you'll be taking for a spin during this tournament? Will you be putting your screw attack skills to the test? Can the great Samus Aran still come out on top when every other character is screwing around as well?
