Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to host first anniversary spirit event

We can hardly believe it here at N-Europe but almost a year has passed since the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch.
In that time not only has the game sold phenomenally well but we've also seen the introduction of many popular third-party dlc characters including Joker from Persona, the Hero from Dragon Quest, Banjo & Kazooie (guh-huh!) and Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury with at least one more planned dlc fighter yet to be revealed as part of the Fighter's Pass with more to follow in the future.
This game has been quite a big deal here on the site as well as it got a glowing review at the end of last year, there have been many regular multiplayer sessions which you can check out in our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Online Thread on the forum and most recently we've even launched a video podcast based around the game called A Smashing Cast which has been created and is run by Ryan (aka Lazyboy on the forum) along with Jonnas plus a handful of N-Europe staff members.
Of course there have also been several tournaments set by Nintendo in addition to many spirit events held on a regular basis in order to encourage more people to play the game more regularly, just in case they needed any more encouragement but it's also a good way to make some extra progress in the game.
To celebrate the one year anniversary of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo is holding a very special spirit event as a thank you to its fans, it starts today and runs for three days, if you take part then you can expect to gain triple the exp and SP in-game plus there will be a fifty percent damage item available as well.
No better time to get involved than now then it would seem, if you're into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and have been since it came out or even if you've just bought the game or are perhaps planning on getting it for Christmas or in the new year, then why not join in with the fun in our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate thread on the forum where our friendly and knowledgeable community will surely be glad to see you make a post about the game, your favourite character or just Nintendo/videogames in general.
Here at N-Europe we'd like to take the opportunity to give thanks to everyone at Nintendo and of course Masahiro Sakurai for creating the game, all of the third-parties involved in making dreams come true with many of the dlc characters plus we'd like to take a moment to remember the late, great Satoru Iwata who is sadly no longer with us but would surely have raised a glass and a smile to see the success of the game series which he had such a pivotal role in creating; especially on this day which would have been the former Nintendo President's 60th birthday.
We shall surely play a few rounds in Iwata-San's honour, as Kirby of course, trying on as many different ability hats as is currently possible.
