Tatsumi Kimishima named new Nintendo president

Nintendo has announced that Tatsumi Kimishima has been appointed CEO and President of the company following the unexpected death of Satoru Iwata in July.

The 65 year-old Kimishima takes the helm after being General Manager of Nintendo's Corporate Analysis division, and also had a spell as President of Nintendo of America during the GameCube era.

Temporary charge of Nintendo went to Shigeru Miyamoto and Genyo Takeda following Iwata-san's death in July. With an experienced business manager in Kimishima now at the helm, Miyamoto and Takeda's roles have been re-branded. Formerly the General Manager of Nintendo's EAD software divisions, Miyamoto is now Nintendo's 'Creative Fellow'. And as Takeda took practically the same position above Nintendo's hardware divisions, he will now be known as 'Technology Fellow'.
